you are allowed to terminate toxic relationships
you are allowed to walk away from people who hurt you
you are allowed to be angry and selfish and unforgiving
you don’t owe anyone an explanation for taking care of yourself
When you compliment a random woman who doesn’t know you, no matter how nice you are about it, there’s a good chance she’s going to freak out internally because for all she knows, you could be that latter type. And I get that it’s really unfair that women would just assume that about you. I get that it sucks that sometimes, expressing totally reasonable opinions like “hey you’re hot” will make women terrified of you or furious at you. That’s not fair.
But if you’re going to lay the blame for that somewhere, for fuck’s sake, don’t blame the woman. Blame all the guys who have called her a bitch and a cunt for ignoring their advances. Blame all the guys who may have harassed, abused, or assaulted her in the past. Blame all the people who may never do such a thing themselves, but who were quick to blame her and tell her to just get over it. Blame the fact that if she stops and talks to you and then something bad happens, people will blame her for stopping and talking to you.

Why You Shouldn’t Tell That Random Girl On The Street That She’s Hot » Brute Reason (via brute-reason) I’d like to add that if you insist on doing so in a setting where they’re working - say as a barista or a shop cashier, do what I do. Say that it seems a little odd to say and you don’t know if they hear it a lot and preemptively apologise if they do or if this makes them uncomfortable, but you think she’s very pretty. Then just wish them a good day and leave it at that. (via farorescourage) |

Hey guys~ Angel and I aren’t dead! Anyway, letting you guys know that Angel and I will be in 2 panels at A-Kon! We’re going to be doing these panels with the CannotUnsee Cosplay group. One of the panels, the official one, will be a Hetalia Panel which will be on Friday May 31st from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm in the Senator’s Lecture hall. Angel will be Spain and I’m going to be Norway. And the other one, the unofficial one, will be on Saturday, June 1st, from 6 pm to 8 pm in the park near the hotel. This one will be a HetaStuck (Hetalia + Homestuck, for those of you who are unfamiliar with that term) panel. I will be Norway at this panel, and Angel will be Denmark. Hope to see y’all there~!!
I’ve seen people leave a full page of why they need commissions ranging from homelessness or a dying pet (actual need) to moving out of the country to be with someone (more of a want) and I’ve noticed something.
No one cares about your problems if you’re not well known.
I follow multiple artists here on tumblr, some who’ve just entered semi-popularity, some who’ve been around a while and have developed a huge fanbase, and it’s always the same thing: the veteran gets to their goal within a week, the newbie has to practically BEG for help. I know people say popularity doesn’t matter, but from my point of view, it really does, especially when you have to depend on commissions and publicity to get by.
